BobsMyHost.com is the place to find simple, reliable web hosting services with an emphasis on supporting creative professionals. This service was created as a byproduct of my commercial photography business, Accurate Image. I wanted in-house control of the way my library of images was presented to clients so I developed an efficient server setup to accomplish the task. That’s not a trivial task either in terms of hours or dollars so I began taking on hosting clients to help offset the costs. Over the years the quality and range of services offered has increased dramatically. This site is the result.

You get personal, reliable, realistic service at reasonable rates. Most of my users are either local (Central Texas) or have connections here. They like having a real person to deal with to get started… or when support is needed.
What’s included with a BobsMyHost.com hosting account?
You get space on a web server running Apache 2, PHP 5, and access to a MySQL database. You have FTP access for site editing. If you want, the latest WordPress will be preinstalled and configured. WordPress is probably the simplest way to get a site up and running quickly. It’s also a simple type of site to maintain and update. There’s a huge pool of free or low cost resources available around the web to support all aspects of WordPress use. You get email accounts as needed with support for POP, IMAP and webmail.
Most hosting providers quote packages with massive quantities of storage space or bandwidth that grossly exceed what most users will ever need for a personal portfolio site… but it makes it sound like you’re getting a “deal” with so much stuff for the price. I don’t have stated maximums for space, email accounts, bandwidth, etc. Your limit is that you don’t use resources so heavily that it negatively impacts other users of the system. If someone’s site grows to the point that it impacts others, I’ll help you move to another service. I’ve been hosting sites since 2000 and so far have never come even close to having to do that. I have and will refuse to take on a site that I feel may ever get to that point.
What’s not included?
I don’t provide web design services. I will help you get a template installed if you choose to go that route… or help you get started with basic WordPress functions. Just ask.
I also prefer not to handle your domain registration. I can… but don’t recommend it. Regardless of where you host YOU should control your domain registration. Work with a top tier ICANN registered provider like Network Solutions or GoDaddy. I will help walk you through the simple process.
